Reno and Sparks lay in Washoe County, Nevada, which has a population of 333,566. Reno, the third largest city in Nevada, is the county seat. Other communities in the area include Carson City, Minden/Gardnervlle (the Carson Valley), and several Lake Tahoe area communities. The wide variety and availability of outdoor recreation, including skiing, fishing, water sports, boating, golf and hiking, has caused the Reno/Tahoe region to be dubbed “America’s Adventure Place". Residents of the area enjoy a growing economy and moderate cost of living.
